Danielle Ammaccapane

Danielle Ammaccapane, 19, of Phoenix, Arizona, defeated Kristie Kolacny of Grand Junction, Colorado, 6 and 5, at Flanders Valley Golf Course in Flanders, New Jersey. Ammaccapane was the medallist at one-over-par 145.

In the final, Ammaccapane won two of the first three holes but Kolacny evened the match by winning the fourth and sixth holes. Ammaccapane won the seventh and, after eight was halved with pars, took control of the match, winning the ninth through the 13th holes to close out Kolacny. It was the second year in a row that Kolacny had fallen to a five-hole run by her opponent in the final.

Phoenix won the Team Championship for the third time in the nine-year history of the event. The team of Lisa Cornelius, Michelle Estill and Lana Perhacs combined for a 300 total, three strokes better than both Miami, Florida, and Grand Junction, Colorado. The USGA accepted 878 entries for the Championship.
