Open to women amateur golfers who, since Jan. 1, 2002 have been
bona fide public course players and have not held privileges of
any course that does not extend playing privileges to the general
public, or privileges of any private club maintaining its own course.
A bona fide public curse player may hold incidental privileges of
a course not open to public when such privileges are provided by
(1) an educational institution at which she is a student, or (2)
a federal armed service of which she is a member or retired member,
or (3) an industry by which she is employed or retired. Entries
close May 1.

Schedule of Play
- Tuesday, June 18 - First round, stroke play (18 holes)
- Wednesday, June 19 - Second round, stroke play (18 holes) After
36 holes, the field will be cut to the low 64 players, who will
advance to match play.
- Thursday, June 20 - First round, match play (18 holes), Second
round, match play (18 holes)
- Friday, June 21 - Third round, match play (18 holes) Quarterfinals,
match play (18 holes)
- Saturday, June 22 - Semifinals, match play (18 holes)
- Sunday, June 23 - Final, match play (36 holes)
Sectional Qualifying
18 holes stroke play, scheduled at approximately 40 sites between
May 22 - 31.

- Players reaching the second round of match play in the 2000

- Players qualified for match play in the 2001 U.S. Women's Amateur

- Any player who has qualified for the 1999, 2000 or 2001 U.S.
Women's Open Championship, if otherwise eligible
- Quarterfinalists in the 2001 U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur
Team Championship
Each qualifying section with at least two player eligible for the
individual championship may be represented by one team in teh team
championship. A team shall consist of the lowest three scorers,
unless a location only has two qualifiers. The team championship
consists of 36 holes stroke play - 18 holes on Tuesday, June 19
and Wednesday, June 20. In each 18 holeround, the total of the two
lowest scores by players of each team consitutes the team score
for that round. The champion is the team with the lowest such total
score for 36 holes. Any tie will be settled by a hole -by - hole
playoff.
The Champions Receives
- A golf medal, and custody of the Robert F. Dwyer Trophy for
the ensuing year. The runner-up receives a silver medal; the other
semifinalists receive bronze medals. The qualifying medalist receives
a bronze medal. The winning team receives custody of the Women's
Amateur Public Links Team Championship Trophy for the ensuing,
and the members of the team receive silver medals.
- An exemption form sectional qualifying for the next 10 U.S.
Women's Amateur Public Links Championship, if otherwise eligible
- An exemption from sectional qualifying for the next U.S. Women's
Amateur Public Links Championship, if otherwise eligible
- An exemption from sectional qualifying fro the two next U.S.
